TWICE's agency JYP Entertainment confirmed an earlier article that Dahyun had been cast in an independent film titled "Sprint," Korean entertainment news outlet Soompi reported Thursday.

"She has been cast for the project, and she is preparing for filming," JYP was quoted as saying in the Soompi story.

With the project, Dahyun will also become the first of TWICE's nine members to venture into acting.

"Sprint," which will begin filming this May, also stars Ha Seok-jin, who recently competed on Netflix's game show "The Devil's Plan." He is also known for playing the brother of Hyun Bin's character in the hit romance series "Crash Landing on You."

Dahyun debuted in 2015 as a member of TWICE, known for its string of catchy bubblegum pop and dance-pop singles. The team is set to return to the Philippines in June for a brand-organized fan meeting.
