More than a month before he ends his mandatory military service, K-pop star Jin of BTS gifted fans with a video message, fueling excitement for his return.

The clip, which Jin said was filmed coinciding with the release of his solo single "The Astronaut" in October 2022, was posted on Thursday on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel.

"You'll be seeing me very soon. I've missed you a lot," the 31-year-old singer, who enlisted last December 2022, told fans.

"Have a great May and remember that I'll be coming to you very soon," he added.

The idol born Kim Seok-jin is scheduled to be discharged from the army on June 12, 2024, becoming the first member of the phenomenal K-pop group to finish his mandatory service.

BTS is expected to resume activities as a full group of seven by 2025.

All South Korean able-bodied men under the age of 30 are required to serve at least 18 months in the military, mainly because the country remains technically at war with nuclear-armed North Korea.
