MANILA -- Actress Coleen Garcia on Monday said that her husband, Billy Crawford, is "more than okay" and "healthier than ever," a week after he became a trending topic on social media over a photo wherein he looked unwell.

Garcia said Crawford's slimmer physique is due to the healthier lifestyle choices that he is making.

"I guess people are so used to seeing us like this, na made-up kami and showbiz mode," said Garcia. "Pero kahit noon pa, si Billy talaga may dark circles, and 'yung hair niya medyo nauubos na."

"Pero even before, it was never a problem to us. Hindi siya issue para sa amin, hindi namin kinakahiya," she stressed.

Garcia had defended her husband's physique and appearance last week, and on Monday she addressed the speculation on social media over Crawford's look.

"He's more than okay. As in, 'yun na nga, payat siya kasi wala na siyang mga bisyo," she said. "Ang dami kasing nagsasalita, 'di ba? Pero in his whole life, proud ako sa kaniya na never siyang naka -- and never even tried mga hard drugs or anything."

"We're putting it out there and honest kami sa inyo. Sana may mga mag-respect din sa mga sinasabi namin, because we wouldn't lie about something like that," she added. "Billy used to struggle with alcoholism. He quit alcohol, he quit smoking, wala siyang bisyo ngayon, and he's healthier than ever."

Garcia also believes that her husband's current appearance may be a result of stress from his frequent travels for international shows in countries like France and the United States. According to Garcia, Crawford leaves the country every month to perform at various shows abroad.

"Ang hirap ng ginagawa niya," she said. "Every month, he leaves the country to work, and every time he leaves the country, he does several shows."

Crawford's busy schedule also includes his commitments to "The Voice Philippines."

Meanwhile, Garcia is also promoting her new movie, "Isang Gabi," which features a story and screenplay crafted by National Artist Ricky Lee.
