MANILA -- Singer Kiana Valenciano, daughter of singer Gary Valenciano, recently opened up about her feelings regarding her father's upcoming "One Last Time" concert on May 10. 

In an interview, Kiana admitted that she is in denial about her father's decision to do a final show.

“Ako personally hindi ako naniniwala na one last time,” she said. “Maybe it's not na hindi ako naniniwala more of in denial ako kasi when you watch the show, he still got it and he puts his heart into it and it's so inspiring na parang ayoko maniwala na hindi niya na 'yun magagawa. I don't believe it. I choose not to.”

Kiana also shared that she gets emotional thinking about her father's final show and admitted to being emotional during the rehearsal for the first show.

"It's very emotional. I joke that all I know are his songs more than nursery rhymes, so seeing my childhood on that stage and my dad... If you guys try to put yourselves in my shoes, it's bittersweet," Kiana said.

Despite being the daughter of a music icon, Kiana is carving her own path in the industry with her own music releases. When asked about being in the shadow of her father, Kiana acknowledged her privilege and the opportunities that come with being Gary V's daughter.

“I can't disregard the fact that i was born privileged. A lot of people would really kill to have this opportunity. I can't really complain kasi anak nga naman ako ni Gary V. So what am I gonna do? Pretend that’s not the case? It’s part of my identity and I just have to embrace it,” Kiana said.

"Yes, I'm in his shadow, but with a star that bright, how can you not be? How can anyone in a room not be?" she added.

Kiana is gearing up to unveil the music video for her latest single, "Sweet Release," and is currently in the process of creating a new album that will feature a total of 12 tracks.
