MANILA — For actor Win Metawin, his upcoming film "Under Parallel Skies" with Filipina actress Janella Salvador features a blending of Thai and Filipino cultures.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Metawin shared how he has been looking forward to working with international artists, which is why he agreed to star on "Under Parallel Skies."

"I think it was very challenging for me. And I wished before that I could work with international people more. So I think it was a good chance for me to do it," he told ABS-CBN News. 

During filming, Metawin saw how Thai and Filipino culture have similarities especially in their ways of communicating and humor.

"I think Thai culture and Filipino culture is very similar. So we got along very easily with Janella and with the crew who worked together during the filming. And I have been to Hong Kong like so many times already. So I'm pretty familiar with the place already," the actor said.

"I think everything, I guess. I mean, the way we talk, the jokes. I just feel like I work with Thai team. It's pretty similar," he added.

Metawin admired Salvador's professionalism, and shared that the Kapamilya star even gave him tips on acting.

"They taught me some Tagalog. Actually, Janella helped me a lot during the filming because her English is so good. And she taught me a lot during the filming," Win said.

"I think she is very professional, which makes me easier to play with her. Because she plays very smoothly, so it makes me more comfortable to shoot, to play," he added.

With their film "Under Parallel Skies", Metawin hopes that people would see that "money can't buy happiness".

"Parin came from a very rich family and he was trying to search for his mom in Hong Kong. So that's why he came all the way from Thailand to Hong Kong to search for his mom. And then he met a receptionist at the hotel where he's staying, which is Janella. And then they fell in love together. And then Janella helped him to find his mom," the actor said.

"I think the main thing that came from Parin is money cannot buy happiness. No matter how rich you are, money doesn't matter. I think 'Under Parallel Skies' like showed the love story line, as I said, money cannot buy happiness. Parin is very rich, but Iris is not. Just a receptionist at the hotel, so she's not really rich. But they still have the happiness together," he added.

He added that the film is very easy to digest, with its blend of various genres.

"I would say this movie is very easy to watch and very easy to understand. So I think it's got something for everyone. Everybody can watch this film. I think it's got everything like romance, comedy, drama. So you should find time and watch it," she said.

Asked about his upcoming endeavors, Win said: "I'm going to have my solo concert in Japan this month and other countries as well. So please stay tuned for that. And also, I will start filming 'Enigma' Part 2."

Win also thanked his fans for their unwavering support.

"I would say, thank you very much for your support. You're always supportive to me. Every time I come back here, all the fans always give me the energy that they have. I'm so impressed with that. I'm always happy to be back here again."
