MANILA --  Screen veteran  Richard Gomez turned to social media to honor his wife, Lucy Torres, as they celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary over the weekend.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Gomez shared a lengthy message for his wife whom she praised for her "kind understanding nature." 

"As we celebrate our 26th anniversary, my heart overflows with joy and gratitude for the love we share, Lucy my love. It feels as though our journey together has only just begun, filled with countless cherished and beautiful memories of laughter, joy, and pure happiness. Your kind understanding nature has been a guiding light, grounding us in moments of challenge and lifting us higher in times of triumph."

"Every night, as I lay down to sleep, I find myself whispering and talking to the heavens, thanking the Lord for the incredible blessing of having you by my side. Each morning, as I awake, I always look at you while you sleep, my first thought is a prayer of gratitude for the gift of your love in my life. Lucy, my love, happy 26th Anniversary to the one who fills my days with love, laughter, and endless happiness. Here’s to many more years of growing, learning, and loving together. I love you beyond words. Richard." 

In his post, Gomez uploaded photos of him and Torres as well as snaps of them with their only child Juliana. He also used the theme song of the film "Love Affair" as background music.

"This music, theme song of the movie 'Love Affair' was the music played during the wedding march of Lucy in ‘98 in Ormoc City. These pictures are stories of our daily lives. Our big family of 3. Lucy, Juliana and I," Gomez said.

In the comment section of his post, Torres expressed her love to Gomez. "You are the love of my life. My answered prayer. My forever. Happy anniversary, my Richard. Everyday I thank God for you. Cheers to the best years of our life yet to come," she wrote.

Torres and Gomez tied the knot on April 28, 1998.

Last year, the two renewed their vows to mark their 25th wedding anniversary.
