MANILA -- As the summer heat intensifies, Philippine cinemas are also bracing for a sizzling lineup of movies this May.

May 1 sets the adrenaline pumping with Universal Pictures International's "The Fall Guy," starring the ever-charismatic Ryan Gosling alongside Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Hannah Waddingham. Directed by action connoisseur David Leitch, the film follows a stuntman's perilous journey through the film industry's underbelly as he tracks down a missing star, unravels a conspiracy, and aims to reclaim his lost love. It's a rollercoaster ride where stunts become the reality of survival.

Sharing the debut spotlight on the same day is Columbia Pictures' "Tarot." This supernatural horror has Jacob Batalon, Avantika, Harriet Slater, and Adain Bradley playing a group of friends who must face their dire destinies after tampering with a cursed Tarot deck. Directors Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg bring to life a chilling tale that reminds us some rules should never be broken.

Come May 15, Paramount Pictures invites audiences to the enchanting world of "IF," a film by John Krasinski starring Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming, with an all-star voice cast including Steve Carell, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bradley Cooper, and Blake Lively. This fantastical journey explores the power of imagination and the unseen bonds that connect us all.

Warner Bros. Pictures gears up to take moviegoers on a post-apocalyptic ride with "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" releasing on May 22. Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth star in this George Miller-directed epic, which traces the origins of the fierce warrior Furiosa, revealing the trials that shaped her into the character first introduced in "Mad Max: Fury Road."

Lastly, on May 29, Columbia Pictures brings a slice of animated joy with "The Garfield Movie." Voiced by Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson, and Nicholas Hoult, and directed by Mark Dindal. This comedy follows Garfield as he embarks on an unexpected adventure with his canine friend Odie who are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.

From high-octane action flicks to animated comedies, the month of May promises a diverse array of silver-screen treasures featuring Hollywood's finest.
