(UPDATE) The hit South Korean series "Queen of Tears" wrapped up late Sunday, recording the highest viewership ratings for a drama aired by its network tvN.

The finale logged a 24.9 percent viewership rating, the Korea Times reported early Monday, citing data from Nielsen Korea.

The figure reportedly surpassed the record held by "Crash Landing on You," another tvN drama that aired in 2020, which achieved a rating of 21.7 percent for its finale episode.

The 16-part "Queen of Tears," which can be streamed on Netflix, follows conglomerate heiress Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won), who marries farmer's son-turned-lawyer Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun).

The couple were on the brink of divorce after three years of marriage, but find themselves rekindling their love upon learning that Hae-in suffers from a terminal illness.

Also on Monday, Kim Soo-hyun released the song "Way Home" for the series' official soundtrack. It was made available on music streaming platforms.

Other notable tvN dramas include "Goblin," "Vincenzo" and the "Reply" series.
