MANILA -- Former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson announced his partnership with the Korean producers of the popular Netflix series “Vagabond.”

"Vagabond" is a 2019 South Korean series starring Lee Seung-gi as a stuntman who finds himself at the center of a huge corruption scandal. It also star Bae Suzy.

“Baka itong May. Tinatapos lang ‘yung whole story. Kasi ayaw nilang gumawa ng hindi tapos ‘yung story. Kailangan tapos ‘yung istorya para tuluy-tuloy na ang shoot,” Singson said in an interview with the showbiz reporters at the opening of the latest branch of Korean restaurant BB.Q Chicken in Marikina.

“Siguro, isang buwan na ginagawa [‘yung story]. ‘Yung second episode ay sa Philippines para makasama ‘yung local stars. Magkakaroon tayo ng actors and actresses from the Philippines,” added Singson, who will be one of the producers.

Singson proudly said he plans to showcase the country’s different tourist attractions. “Sa Ilocos muna. Ang balak ko sa lahat ng magagandang lugar sa Pilipinas katulad nung ginawa ko sa Miss Universe. Para makilala ang bansa natin,” he said.

Asked how the project was conceptualized, Singson said, “Marami tayong companies sa Korea at mga kaibigan. Si Lee Seun-gi malaking part din kaya natuloy ito. Kaibigan natin sila. Masaya siya. Matagal na natin silang kilala. Dun ko rin sa Korea gagawin ‘yung modernization program ng ating jeepneys,” he said.

Singson recently opened the latest branch of Korean restaurant BB.Q Chicken at Ayala Malls Feliz in Marikina. Among the celebrities spotted at the opening were Phoebe Walker, Rico Robles, Austin Cabatana, and other influencers.
