Marina Summers misses 'Drag Race: UK vs the World' S2 final lipsync; Tia Kofi wins

MANILA — Filipina drag queen Marina Summers missed the final Lip Sync battle of "RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs the World" Season 2 aired Saturday (Manila time).

In the eighth episode, all the 11 contestants reunited to discuss what happened throughout the season.

Spain's bet Arantxa Castilla-La Mancha was also chosen as Miss Congeniality by the queens.

Marina wowed RuPaul with her final look inspired by the biodiversity of the Philippines.

"You are so talented and on top of that there's a sweetness and a kindness there. You got this, kiddo. You were born to this," RuPaul said.

In the final lip-synch smackdown, a wheel will determine who will first compete in the Lip Sync with more slots for the person with the most wins making Marina choose her opponent.

Marina chose "Drag Race Down Under" contestant Hannah Conda and they got the song "I’m Outta Love" by Anastacia.

Hannah won the battle, ending Marina's journey in the "RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs the World" season as a Top 4 finalist.

"Marina Summers, I'm sorry, my dear, but this is not your time. Thank you for an amazing season. You are and will always be a global phenomenon," RuPaul said.

Marina expressed her gratitude for being on the show hoping that the she made her countrymen proud. 

"Ru, thank you so much for inviting this little Filipina on your big show. I am forever grateful and my lines are open for another call. But, honestly, I know I made a lot of Filipinos across the globe proud and thank you for giving me this opportunity. I'll always and forever be your Filipino winner," she said.

"I'm so proud of Hannah and I am walking out as an international glamazon with international sisters that for me is a win already."

La Grande Dame of France and and Tia Kofi from the UK performed "Boogie 2Nite" by Booty Luv.

The UK's bet got the second slot in the final Lip Sync and battled it out with Hannah Conda to "Your Disco Needs You" by Kylie Minogue.

Tia Kofi won the second season of "RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs the World" succeeding Blu Hydrangea, also from the UK franchise.

Marina is the first drag queen from the Philippine franchise to compete in an international edition of the hit reality competition. She was runner-up to Precious Paula Nicole in "Drag Race Philippines" Season 1 aired in 2022.

"Drag Race Philippines" has been renewed for a third season along with the Thai and French franchise.
