Kim Soo-hyun's management company denied Sunday that the South Korean actor was dating actress Kim Sae-ron, according to reports.

Dating rumors between the two stars, who were once both under the same management company, surfaced after the 23-year-old actress posted early Sunday a photo of herself with the 36-year-old actor on her Instagram Stories.

Korean entertainment news outlet Soompi reported that Gold Medalist shut down the rumors.

"We are informing you that Kim Soo-hyun's dating rumors are not currently true. The photo that has been spread online appears to have been taken in the past, when [Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron] were under the same agency," it said in the statement published in full by Soompi.

The agency said it was "unable to understand" Sae-ron's motivation for posting the photo and added that it would take legal action against those who would "defame" Soo-hyun.

Sae-ron, who began her career as a popular child star, was managed by Gold Medalist from 2020 to 2022. She parted ways with the company months after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

Soo-hyun, meanwhile, currently stars in the romantic comedy series "Queen of Tears," playing the husband of a conglomerate heiress whose marriage faces a crisis.
