On Saturday, Eder hiked Mount Halla (or "Halla-san" in Korean), located in South Korea's Jeju Island, where he ran into actor Song Kang — a chance meeting that he was able to take a video of using his phone.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Sunday, the Zambales native recalled that he was descending from Mount Halla when he ran into Song.

"I was trying to catch my breath because the hike was really tiring and the next thing I knew he was in front of me. So nilabas ko agad phone ko and nag-video," said Eder, who was in Korea as part of a solo backpacking trip across Asia.

(So I immediately whipped out my phone and took a video.)

"When we passed by each other, we just said, 'Fighting!' to each other just like what other Korean were telling me tuwing may makakasalubong," he added.

Eder said he knew Song from his shows and considers the actor's latest project, "My Demon," as "one of my favorite K-drama series."

"'Di ako makapaniwala after. I think I stopped walking for about five minutes to process na siya nga 'yong nakasalubong ko," he said.

Song, also known for starring in the hit apocalyptic horror series "Sweet Home," is set to begin his mandatory military service in April.
