MANILA -- Albie Casiño is open to once again having a love team, especially after seeing the success of Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino as well as his "Can't Buy Me Love" castmates Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings.

“Before, I would be ‘I am over it, I am turning 31, I am done with that era.’ But then we have KimPau, so, who knows. And even to a lesser extent since she is still young, si Maris and Snoop, she had been here for a long time, she is known as a solo artist,” he explained in an interview after the press conference of his latest film “Kasalo.”   

According to Casiño, he also considered being associated with a leading lady as he had already solidified his career as an actor and is now confident he will no longer be boxed into a love team.

“Before, do I would think I do not want to be known as a love team. But I’ve already established myself,” he explained. 

“Kasalo,” directed by HF Yambao, will stream on Vivamax beginning March 26. In the movie, Casiño stars alongside Vern Kaye, Rash Flores and Mia Cruz. 

The film is Casiño’s third project with Vivamax following “Eks” and “Salawahan.” According to him, he ventured into daring roles to further grow as an actor.

“I think I am still a mainstream actor. But I’ve been acting so long, this was something I have not done. Room growth. I like the challenges, do new things,” he said.

“At first, you’d think it is 'sexy.' But the first script I did opened my eyes. the end, there is a twist, the part where I pick up the baby and carry him out. That was me. I told direk that would be cool. Also the part where I broke down I suggested it,” he added. 

Casiño is also interested in doing theater in the future.
