MANILA -- "It's Showtime" hosts Vhong Navarro and Anne Curtis still can't believe that they are going down in the history books of Philippine entertainment as the hosts of a noontime show that crossed over to the rival network of ABS-CBN.

Curtis said Wednesday (March 20, 2024) she never imagined this kind of deal happening, and now that it's signed, it was still a "surreal" feeling for her.

"I mean, the move to GTV alone was already a historical moment. Ito talaga 'yung, for the longest time, hindi mo maiisip ang 'It's Showtime' mapupunta sa 12 noon timeslot ng GMA-7 at ngayon na po 'yon, mangyayari na siya sa April 6," she said during the contract signing.

Meanwhile, Navarro said he never imagined that they would be the ones next in line in GMA-7's noontime show since it was taken up by then-rival noontime show "Eat Bulaga" for decades.

"Syempre 'yung noontime [show] na... kung sino nandito noon, ay pinapanood lang namin noon. Malay mo bang... maiimagine mo bang kami pala yung susunod sa yapak nila? Kaya sobrang grateful na mapabilang kami at makasama kami at makatungtong kami dito sa GMA," he said.

When asked on why both of them were holding back tears during the program, Curtis said it was due to the "rollercoaster of emotions leading to this point."

"Siyempre nakikita niyo kami araw-araw nagpapasaya, pero on the back end of it, ang daming questions sa amin. So to finally be here and find out that this is really happening, I think we were just very much overwhelmed with the moment. Kasi it's so surreal. Parang never in my personal, wildest dreams inakala kong mangyayari ito," she said.

"Ang sinasabi kasi ni Anne, 'What if hindi nangyari ito?' Kumbaga saan kami pupunta... Buti na nga lang hindi sa amin sinasabi pa kung ano yung mga reasons, ano yung mangyayari kasi baka din mahalata kami sa live. Kumbaga yung saya namin mabawasan dahil mayroon kaming iniintindi na pagdadaanan, pagsubok na naman na mabigat," Navarro added.

Meanwhile, both of them said that they are excited to show the "madlang kapuso" everything they have prepared for.

"I think this has always been a strength of Showtime. We are a family of being able to reinvent. This is why we've been here going on 15 years... All the time maaasahan ng 'madlang kapuso' yan," Curtis said.

"Kumbaga kami, lagi kaming handa. Mga sundalo kami e. 'Pag sinabak mo kami dyan, hindi pupwedeng hindi namin pinaghandaan. So lahat ng gagawin ng 'It's Showtime' family ay talaga namang bonggang bongga," Navarro said.

The two networks sealed the partnership held at the GMA studios, and was attended by top executives and "It's Showtime" hosts.

Before the partnership, "It's Showtime" has been airing on GMA-owned GTV (Good Television) since July 2023.
