Japan reigned supreme at the 17th Asian Film Awards, with six awards.
Outstanding talents from the Land of the Rising Sun took home three major awards, including Best Actor for Yakusho Koji in 'Perfect Days', Best Director for Kore-Eda Hirokazu in 'Monster' and Best Film for 'Evil Does Not Exist'.
China received nods including Best Screenplay for PemaTseden for the movie 'Snow Leopard', which also got the Best Cinematography award for Matthias Delvaux. Chinese Actress Jiang Qinqin got the best actress award for her performance in the movie 'Dwelling by the West Lake'.
Hong Kong also took home a number of awards like Best Production Design and Best Costume Design. They also bagged major awards including Best Supporting Actress for Rachel Leung in the movie 'In Broad Daylight' and Best New Director for Nick Cheuk for his excellent direction in 'Time Still Turns the Pages'.

Special awards were also given including the Rising Star Award for Thai actor Win Metawin, the very first recipient from Thailand.

Best Editing - Kim Sang-bum for '12.12: The Day' (SOUTH KOREA)
Best Sound - Inoue Natsuko for 'Godzilla Minus One' (JAPAN)
Best Supporting Actor - Park Hoon for '12.12: The Day' (SOUTH KOREA)
Best Original Music - IshibashiEiko for 'Evil Does Not Exist' (JAPAN)
Best Supporting Actress - Rachel Leung for 'In Broad Daylight' (HONG KONG)
Best New Director - Nick Cheuk for 'Time Still Turns the Pages' (HONG KONG)
