Four K-pop groups, led by boy band Seventeen, entered the list of the 10 biggest-selling recording artists in 2023, an industry group announced Thursday.

Seventeen placed second on the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry's (IFPI) Global Artist Chart, marking its third consecutive year in the Top 10 as well as its highest ranking to date, said the organization that represents the recording industry.

The IFPI attributed Seventeen's placing to the success of its 10th extended play (EP) "FML," which was released in April 2023.

Seventeen ranks behind Taylor Swift, who was named the biggest-selling artist for the second consecutive year. The American singer-songwriter also made history for being the first artist to top the IFPI list on four occasions.

Another Korean act, Tomorrow X Together (TXT), entered the tally at No. 7.

In 2023, the five-member boy band dropped its fifth Korean EP, second Japanese album, and third Korean album, the IFPI noted.

"[TXT] enjoyed their biggest global recognition to date with a world tour, major global artist collabs, [and] TV & festival appearances," the organization said.

Fast-rising girl group NewJeans, meanwhile, landed on the eighth spot "with a series of EP releases, global brand collaborations [and] high-profile festival performances."

The other artists on IFPI's Top 10 are Drake (No. 4), The Weeknd (No. 5), Morgan Wallen (No. 6), Bad Bunny (No. 9) and Lana del Rey (No. 10).
