MANILA — As a love letter to their fans, P-pop girl group BINI hopes to give comfort to listeners with their new extended play (EP) "Talaarawan" next month.

Asked why they chose International Women's Day, March 8, as their release date, Mikha Lim mentioned their advocacy for women's rights and making people confident in their own skin.

"Our advocacy is also women empowerment. We always want to inspire women, and not just women but we want to make sure that people feel confident in their own skin. That's why I think that March 8 is the perfect date," Lim told ABS-CBN News in an interview.

BINI leader Jhoanna Robles added that the group hopes that "Talaarawan" (which is the Filipino word for 'diary') would help them process their feelings with their songs.

"Mapi-feel mo talaga 'yung journey ng BINI, hindi lang sa family, friends... and hopefully, ma-feel din ng Blooms na para kaming diary nila na pwede nilang pag-open (up-an) and ma-feel nila 'yung comfort sa bawat songs po na ire-release namin," Robles said.

"Feeling namin, it's a celebration. 'Yun na rin 'yung regalo namin para sa mga Blooms namin," she added.

Ahead of the EP release, BINI previously released the singles "Karera" and "Pantropiko" in 2023.

Composed of Mikha, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Jhoanna and Sheena, BINI debuted in 2021 with the single "Born to Win" and were known for their singles such as "Na, Na, Na," "Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi," "Lagi," among others.
