MANILA — Stunned by his local fans’ ardent cheers, South Korean actor Park Hyung-sik said his Filipino supporters were “the best” as he reunited with them for a fan meeting here late Saturday.

Towards the end of the two-hour-long event, the “Doctor Slump” star admitted he did not expect such zealous reception from his Pinoy fans.

“You’re more passionate than I thought, and that’s why I got more excited, and it seems like I received a lot of energy from you,” he told fans, collectively called SIKcret, at the Araneta Coliseum.

“You’re the best,” he added.

Park thanked fans for their “passionate love,” considering he had not been to the Philippines in the last 4 years.

During the fan meet, produced by MQLive, Park played games and interacted with fans while performing songs in between.

Kicking off the evening, Park serenaded the crowd with “Bud,” a song from his 2023 period drama “Our Blooming Youth.”

He also treated his fans to a performance of Justin Bieber’s “Off My Face”.

Showing off a more playful side, Park also played jegichagi (a Korean traditional game similar to “sipa”) on stage and attempted to maintain composure as he sang using microphones with voice-changing effects.

Giving fans a throwback to his days as a K-pop idol, Park also sang a snippet of “Breathe,” a 2014 single by his boy group ZE:A.

Park also spoke about his ongoing series “Doctor Slump,” which premiered last January, teasing that more interesting story-lines are set to unfold in future episodes.

The fan meeting reached its climax when Park played a game where he had to guess the meaning of a Filipino word with the help of his fans, who he personally picked from the crowd.

Park also acknowledged the popularity of his 2017 romantic comedy series “Strong Woman Do Bong-soon,” thanking Filipino fans for their continued support and asking them to similarly support “Doctor Slump” until the end.

When asked about his future projects, Park said had none yet, but vowed to come back with better ones in the future. “I’m coming back to Korea, and I’ll come back with better projects. I hope you’ll look forward to that,” he said.

“I’ll also make more opportunities to meet all of you like this in the future,” Park added.

Park capped the night with a performance of “Because of You” from “Strong Woman Do Bong-soon”.
