MANILA -- Actor JC de Vera revealed that his eldest daughter, Lana, who regularly watches ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast "TV Patrol," is eyeing to become a reporter someday.

“Napapanood niya lagi kayo eh, nakikita niya journalists at TV anchors natin sa ABS-CBN,” he said in an interview held in Quezon City, Thursday morning.

“Familiar siya sa [anchors]. Kunware Monday alam niya ito lumabas, Tuesday alam niya sino wala,” he added.

De Vera shared that being a father to his daughters as well as husband to wife Rikkah, has helped him mature and grow not only as a person but as an actor as well.

“I matured because of them and nadadala ko ngayon sa trabaho. 'Yung mga roles tinatanggap ko, something malalim, something na may challenge. Kasi I think kaya na ng isip ko. Not like before feeling ko kailangan ko magkaroon ng love team. Ngayon doon na tayo sa pagiging character actor,” he explained.

Apart from his duties as a “girl dad,” among the projects the actor is busy preparing for is his role on the upcoming series “Nobody.”

De Vera described the material as exciting but also equally challenging.

“Meron ako couple of movies paulit-ulit pinapanood. May nuances ako need aralin saka movement,” he said.

“I can’t say yet but it will be surprising, ibang-iba ‘to,” he added.

De Vera will also topbill Joel Lamangan’s romance drama film “Huwag Mo Kong Iwan” with Rhian Ramos and Tom Rodriguez.
