MANILA — Kapamilya actor JC de Vera is ready to show his versatility with hopes of landing more kontrabida roles and comedy projects.

After inking a new contract with ABS-CBN, de Vera noted how the network has always challenged him with his roles.

"Ever since na naging Kapamilya ako, palagi akong tine-test na gumawa ng mga roles always out of my box, out of my comfort zone. Masasabi ko talaga na during my stay dito sa Kapamilya, wala akong hindi challenging na role," the actor told reporters.

"Lahat out of my comfort zone talaga lahat. Isa sa masasabi kong hardest 'yung 'Banana Sundae' ang hirap mag-comedy ... masu-surprise sila roon sa next role na gagawin, another challenging role for me. Something na hindi pa nila nakikita and hindi pa nila nae-experience sa akin," he added.

De Vera said that he wishes to do more comedy project drawing inspiration from comedy legend Adam Sandler.

"Kung gusto kong maging funny siguro any film like what Adam Sandler does pero siyempre out of the box kasi siyempre masarap maglaro ng acting," the actor said.

"I think si Angelica (Panganiban) 'yung masasabi kong 'yung isang dream actress sa comedy na gusto kong makatrabaho na paulit-ulit kong nakakatrabaho ko na pala," he added.

He also teased his upcoming projects saying: "Sa tingin ko, na-enjoy ko siya masyado so mae-expect nila na sa mga darating na mga projects, makakakita sila ng kontrabida roles."
