The jampacked audience at the "Hello, Love, Again" red carpet premiere on Tuesday night erupted into thunderous applause for lead actors Kathryn Bernardo, and Alden Richards, and director Cathy Garcia-Sampana during the movie’s closing billboard.

Viral videos online show Alden and Kathryn sharing a tight hug and a tear after the movie at SM Megalmall's Cinma 3.

Speaking exclusively to ABS-CBN News backstage, the lead actors shared why they became so emotional after watching their film.

“I’m very happy,” Kathryn said.

With a big smile, Alden added that he felt “very fulfilled and accomplished.”

The pair shared that they were entertained by the loud reactions of the audience during the romantic and emotionally-charged scenes.

Their co-stars Kakai Bautista and Maymay Entrata bawled their eyes out during the movie.

“That’s our goal of the film,” said Alden. “We’re so happy na nag-enjoy lahat ng mga guests na kasama namin kanina, and even kami, kasi hindi pa namin siya napapanood. This is the first time.”

Kathryn added, “Yeah, kanina yung first time. It was our first too, kasabay nyo. Kaya nasho-shock din kami.”

The movie ran for two hours and two minutes, and that whole stretch of time, Kathryn and Alden said that they were completely transported to a different place.

“When I was reading the script, hindi ko siya ma-picture what’s gonna happen throughout the scenes. Pero right now, nabuo ko yung kwento ni Joy and Ethan in my mind. Kaya kahit ako, kahit kami ni Kath 'yung pinapanood ko, I really enjoyed the film,” said Alden.

“Parang nakalimutan ko also na kami si Joy at Ethan," Kathryn added. "So the whole time na pinapanood ko sila, I was just rooting for them. Parang hindi kami 'yung gumanap. Para silang tao na pinapanood ko.”

"Hello, Love, Again" hits 500 cinemas nationwide starting Wednesday, Nov. 13.
