MANILA --  Bicol-based band Tothapi has released its newest song titled "Panata."

The seven-piece band said "Panata" was made to sound like lullaby to help those who are struggling from missing their special someone.

"'Panata' delves into the idea that the essence of our love reflects our declaration of commitment, which we will protect and cherish as it grows along an unknown path. No matter what challenges or hardships may arise, the vows we make will remain unbreakable. This song was made to sound like a lullaby to help people struggling with sleep due to stress or missing someone special to them," the band wrote as a reply to ABS-CBN News on Thursday via Instagram.

"Panata" is the result of the efforts of the whole band.

"We are so proud and happy that we are able to create these pieces from writing the lyrics to producing and releasing this song. This feat was only achievable through years of practice and experience that we gathered as a band," the band said.

Kobe, the main writer of "Panata," shared the deeper meaning of the song, which features Bikol dialect.

"As the main writer of this song, this personally means that this song is a representation of commitment and something that is greater than a promise. I wanted to immortalize something that is intangible through this song. In some ways, this song is what assurance will sound like. Aside from the message of this song deeply resonating within me, I also want to leave something for the listeners to also relate on," he said.

"We hope that this song makes them reminded of their loved ones and that it is okay to be afraid of some major transitions happening in their own lives. We also want them to deliver a message that love is always accompanied by commitment no matter the hardships or challenges that may arrive along a path that is still unknown to us," he added.

Kobe shared that he dedicates the song to the band's fans, his family, friends, bandmates and his partner. "Panata" is also a tribute to the band's hometown.

"As a band, we dedicate this masterpiece to our loved ones and especially to our listeners out there whom we are grateful for the love and support that they keep giving us. Since we added a Bikol part in the song, we wanted to highlight our own dialect because we also wanted to somehow dedicate this song to our own hometown. Also, at the start of our performance video, we added a simple message for the victims of Typhoon Kristine and we hope that this message comes through, especially to our Bicol listeners, since we were heavily affected by the storm," he shared.

Tothapi also expressed its excitement over the band's upcoming projects. Details will be released via their social media accounts.

"We have soon to be announced projects in our page that we will put up. We hope that our listeners will look forward on how we explore different styles and melodies, because we really want to serve fresh and timeless kind of music that will be loved by everyone," the band shared.

Early this year, Tothapi guested on "ASAP Natin'  To." According to Asia's  Songbird Regine Velasquez, she discovered the band on social media.

The jazz-influenced pop band went viral with their song "Celeste," which is about "heavenly and eternal companion." As of writing the song surpassed the 10 million mark on Spotify.
