MANILA -- (UPDATED) Bela Padilla and JC Santos are set to star in their reunion movie project "100 Awit Para Kay Stella," the sequel to their successful 2017 movie "100 Tula Para Kay Stella.” 

Jason Paul Laxamana is also returning as director of the film, which will hit cinemas soon based on the social media post released by Viva Films. 

"Never in my life have I been more…sure," Padilla captioned her post which uses the hashtag #100AwitParaKayStella.

In the comment section, Santos left the message: "Kaps! Exciting to." 

Back in July 2020, Laxamana already teased that a sequel for '100 Tula Para kay Stella' is in the works.

In the original movie, Fidel (JC Santos) secretly writes loves poems for her crush, fellow freshman Stella, played by Padilla.

In an interview, Padilla expressed her excitement about the upcoming project.

“Very excited kami and happy kasi parang ilang year na hinihingi ng viewers 'yung '100 Tula Para Kay Stella" 'yung sequel kasi 'yun y'ung unang movie namin ni JC, first hit film. 'Yun din 'yung unang movie na ginawa ko na masakit or mapanakit kaya I think nagkaroon talaga siya ng following.,” Padilla said. 

“Officially two days ago sinabihan kami na confirmed na 'yung sequel. Nag-pitch na sila sa amin ni JC.”

While the plot details are still being kept under wraps, Padilla shared that the sequel will continue the story of Stella and Fidel, seven years after the events of the first film. 

“Very vague pa 'yung nakwento sa amin, synopsis pa lang. Wala pa, hindi ko pa nababasa 'yung script, pero siyempre magtutuloy na 'yung kwento ni Stella at Fidel. Seven years ago kasi 'yung '100 Tula Para Kay Stella. So 'yung '100 Awit Para Kay Stella,' mangyayari ng present time so makikita natin ano na naging buhay nila after college, saan sila napunta, kung naging successful si Fidel, ano nangyari,” she said.

Padilla is also excited to reunite with Santos, her co-star in both the original film and several other projects. 

“Si JC naman hindi kami nag-stop na magtrabaho together. Actually 'yung '100 Tula Para Kay Stella, 'yun pa lang yung umpisa namin. Ang dami na parang naka-anim, pitong movie na kami JC. So lagi naman ako masaya pag katrabaho ko siya kasi kumportable kami sa isa't isa,” she said, referring to their later big-screen outings like "The Day After Valentine's" and "On Vodka, Beer and Regrets."

There is no official release date yet for "100 Awit Para Kay Stella," but fans are already eager to see how the beloved characters’ stories will unfold. -- With report from Ganiel Krishnan, ABS-CBN News
