MANILA -- Actress Marjorie Barretto has decided to return to politics as she filed her certificate of candidacy for councilor in Caloocan City's 1st District over the weekend.

In her Instagram post on Sunday, October 6, Barretto shared that coming back to politics after 10 years has been "challenging, terrifying and exciting."

Barretto, 50,  joined politics in the late 2000s, when she became a member of the Caloocan City Council.

Marjorie has five children: Dani, with former actor Kier Legaspi; Julia, Claudia, and Leon, with comedian Dennis Padilla; and Erich, with politician Recom Echiverri.
