K-pop rapper G-Dragon in the video for his new single 'Power.' Screenshot from video on G-Dragon's YouTube channelK-pop superstar G-Dragon made his long-awaited comeback on Thursday with the release of new single "Power."

"Power" marks G-Dragon's first solo release in seven years, following the extended play "Kwon Ji Yong," titled after the artist's real name, which was released in June 2017.

In the music video for the hip-hop track, the 36-year-old artist moves through a studio, confidently repeating, "I got the power." Toward the end, he transitions to a train set, where he joins several dancers to perform the song's choreography.

A day before the song's release, G-Dragon teased the track during an appearance on the Korean variety show "You Quiz on the Block" and through an Instagram Live stream, according to reports.

G-Dragon is also preparing to perform at the MAMA Awards in late November, marking his return to the popular Korean music awards show after a nine-year absence.

G-Dragon debuted in 2006 as a member of BIGBANG, one of South Korea's most successful boy bands, having sold at least 140 million records worldwide.

Originally a five-piece act, BIGBANG is now a trio, also consisting of Taeyang and Daesung. Former member Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 due to his involvement in the "Burning Sun" sex scandal, while rapper T.O.P announced his withdrawal from the group in 2023.
