Piolo Pascual will always be the country’s Ultimate Heartthrob with legions of devoted fans supporting his television and movie projects.

At 47, Pascual proudly embraces aging while believing in the idea of looking the best you can at the age you are.

In an interview with the A-list actor during Beautéderm’s event in Angeles City, where he also did his photoshoot with the brand’s owner Rhea Tan, Pascual gave his thoughts on aging.

“For me, as a guy, you have to embrace it. At my age, mahirap mang tanggapin ang inevitable, nagkasalamin na rin ako, puting buhok, wala tayong magagawa. It’s inevitable. I’m embracing it in such a way that I don’t celebrate my lines, I don’t celebrate ‘yung aging but I just embrace it because it talks about your life, your journey,” he told ABS-CBN News.

Saying that he’s proud of the wisdom he’s gained throughout his life, he added: “When I look myself in the mirror, nakikita ko ‘yung history ko and I don’t wanna alter that. Masaya na ako sa kung paano ako mag-evolve, how I’m aging, and hopefully, gracefully.”

Taking steps to look and feel good, the Kapamilya actor said that he values his health. 

“I sleep a lot. I value my health because ‘yun ang puhunan din natin sa trabaho. You always have to look presentable in anything that you do. I always wanna be in top shape especially kapag may roles na kailangan ng requirement ng medyo physical. Whatever the role is asking for, kailangan ready ka. It comes with the job. It comes with the territory. Para lagi kang ready,” he shared.

With all eyes on “Papa P,” how does he handle the public attention? He responded: “Trabaho lang. You don’t bring it at home. It’s a privilege. As an artista, kasama ‘yun na maganda ‘yung may pumapansin sa ’yo kaysa naman wala. Baka mawalan ako ng trabaho kapag wala nang pumapansin sa akin. It’s a great feeling. Nakaka-humble kasi siyempre sa tagal natin sa industriya mayroon pa rin tayong napapasayang tao.”

On 'Pamilya Sagrado,' Kyle Echarri, Grae Fernandez, new movie with Vic Sotto 

Social media users and televiewers are praising the performances of Pascual and his co-stars Kyle Echarri and Grae Fernandez in the primetime series "Pamilya Sagrado."

“Siyempre nakakatuwa ‘yun because pinaghirapan natin ‘yun. It was a team effort. One thing I can say about ABS-CBN is talagang once they come up with a story they really go all out. I’ve been a baby of Dreamscape ever since I started. Until now. Any time that they need me or any time there’s a new concept sabi ko — even if I wanted to retire from doing series before —mahirap humindi lalo na kapag magaganda ‘yung mga nakukuha mong role,“ he said/

He also discussed Echarri and Fernadez’s growth, saying, “‘Yung dalawang ‘yun — force. Ang sarap nilang ka-eksena because binibigay talaga nila ‘yung best nila. Bago ‘yung attitude, ‘yung willingness to learn and to think outside the box and just listen and just be open kaya I guess nag-enjoy kami sa process namin because everyone was just really excited to bringing their A game and at the same time to perform at the best of their abilities. I’ve seen how Kyle and Grae have grown. After 6 months, nakita ko talaga how they evolved and transformed into their characters. Nakakabilib.”

Pascual also revealed that the movie with comedy icon Vic Sotto is going to be a visual treat.

“I think magda-dub na lang ako kasi we’re almost done shooting. It’s gonna be a visual treat para sa mga manonood kasi talagang first time mag-drama ni Bossing Vic. Maganda ‘yung production value. I’m really, really excited for December 25. We’re also celebrating the 50 years of MMFF. We’re all excited. I’m really grateful na nakasama pa rin ako sa MMFF. It’s an epic drama. Something new that you haven’t seen with Bossing Vic,” he told the media.

About working with Sotto, he confessed: “Siyempre nung una, nakaka-intimidate. Lumaki akong Vic Sotto fan. Lahat ng pelikula niya sa film fest ay pinapanood ko. Nanginginig at nauutal ako nung una pero kailangan mong panindigan. Nakakatuwa. I was telling my mom, sabi ko, ‘Mommy, grabe ka-eksena ko si Boss Vic.’ Nakakataba ng puso. Umabot ka sa punto na you get to act alongside with an icon. Marami akong natutunan. Pangarap talaga siya sa akin.”
