Actress and former Calatagan, Batangas vice mayor Andrea del Rosario said she turned down offers to return to politics as she wants to focus on her daughter who has a rare congenital disease.

The decision comes after the 14-year-old daughter of the former Viva Hot Babes had a “medical scare” early this year.

“Alam naman natin ang public service you have to prioritize your constituents. But recently we had a medical issue— yung anak ko."

"She is fine now but after that happened, it is my choice to prioritize my family,” she said in an interview after the press conference of “Sine Sindak” at a mall in Quezon City.

“She was born with it, I am hoping hindi siya related but it is the same area."

"I won’t expound but she had a complication and she had a major surgery,” she added.

According to del Rosario, her daughter, who she described as a “fighter,” has since recovered from the surgery and has resumed her regular routine.

“She is very sporty, volleyball varsity. She rides, plays polo. Very active… But because of her past surgeries, she is into a lot of supplements."

"Yung make and body is not ordinary kid, things had to be taken out but she is fine. She is a fighter,” she said.

The “Nanay Tatay” actress believes her daughter grew from the challenging experience. “Hindi ko kailangan explain sa kanya nangyayari."

"Her maturity level sky rocketed. The that come out of her mouth like ‘Mom I learned from this experience…’ nagugulat ako. Ganon conversations."

"The positive side of the experience… maybe iyon,” she said.

Del Rosario is part of the cast of “Nanay Tatay,” one fo the films featured in the 5th “Sine Sindak” Halloween Film Festival to be held at SM Cinemas from October 30-November 5.
