MANILA -- At 15, actress Xia Vigor is preparing to break out from her kiddie roles and pursue more diverse acting opportunities, reflecting her desire to expand her career and showcase her growth as a young actress.

“I think medyo ngayon ko pa lang na-realize 'di na pang bata gagawin ko na roles. I am very used to being part of child projects — Team Yey, 'Your Face Sounds Familiar.' Growing up, hindi na ako maging part ng ganong TV shows,” she said during the press conference held in Pasig City, Wednesday.

The British-Filipina made the bold decision to stay in the country and focus on building her showbiz career, driven by her determination to keep improving her craft while being homeschooled, rather than joining her brother abroad to formally study.

“I thought about it if may potential ako sa showbiz or live in England na lang… if mag-aral na lang ako sa London. But something in me said showbiz. May natayo na kasi ako foundation bata pa lang ako, ayoko masayang hard work na iyon. Biglang aalis na ako. I know I can choose school first pero baka mahirapan ako bumalik 'pag nawala momentum,” she explained.

Vigor first made a name for herself when she was merely 5 years old after succeeding as the grand winner in the “Mini Me 2” contest of “It’s Showtime” in 2014.

Vigor will be part of the anticipated horror film “Nanay Tatay." Vigor also hopes to challenge herself further and take on action and psychological thriller projects in the near future.

In addition to acting, Vigor also seeks to improve and showcase her talent in singing. The teen recently released her single titled “Aminin” under Viva Records, with the music video set to drop in November.
