Vice Ganda has found a "new best friend" in Daniel Maglanque, a Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant whose impersonation of the late comedian Babalu endeared him to the comedy superstar.

The now-viral exchange between Vice Ganda and Maglanque happened in the October 14 episode of "It's Showtime," when he was interviewed by the hosts following his performance.

Amused by Maglanque's comedic timing and self-deprecating jokes about his prominent chin, Vice Ganda said, "Ikaw na ang bagong best friend ko!"

"Wow! Ang lupit mo!" Maglanque quipped, imitating the memorable line of Babalu, who was known for his pointed chin.

The chemistry between Vice Ganda and Maglanque was also apparent to viewers on social media, with clips of the duo garnering hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok, X, and Facebook.

Maglanque, an engineering student from Holy Angel University in Pampanga, eventually won the day's edition of Tawag ng Tanghalan. He will return this weekend for the "prelims," for a chance to inch closer to becoming the "School Showdown" champion.
