In a statement, the streamer said the upcoming season "promises to escalate the competition into an even more intense battle of culinary prowess."

The show features a fierce competition between "white spoons," chefs who run acclaimed restaurants, often holding Michelin stars, and underdog chefs referred to as "black spoons."

Famed Korean restaurateur Paik Jong-won and Chef Anh Sung-jae of Mosu Seoul, the country's sole Michelin three-star restaurant, served as judges during the first season.

The first season, which had 12 episodes, became the first Korean unscripted title to rank No. 1 on Netflix's Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list for three consecutive weeks, according to the streamer.

"We're delighted to announce the production of 'Culinary Class Wars' Season 2, driven by the incredible fan response both in Korea and around the world," said Yoo Ki-hwan, director of content at Netflix Korea.

"Bringing a show of this scale to life requires immense effort, and we’re deeply grateful for the love and enthusiasm we’ve received so far. As we continue to expand our unscripted offerings, we look forward to bringing even more distinctive and exciting shows to our audience in the near future," Yoo added.

"Culinary Class Wars" join the list of Netflix's hit unscripted shows from Korea, which also include "Single's Inferno," "Physical 100" and "The Devil's Plan," among others.
