CAVITE — Cavite 1st District Rep. Jolo Revilla and his mother, Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, have officially submitted their certificates of candidacy, both aiming for a second term in office. 

The two were accompanied by key family members, including Jolo’s wife, Angelica Revilla, his brother Cavite Board Member Ram Revilla, and their father, Senator Bong Revilla Jr.

In an interview, Rep. Revilla shared his thoughts on seeking re-election, saying, "Para sa akin, nagsisimula pa lang tayo. Madami pa tayong kailangang gawin, and I will finish my three terms."

When asked about potential plans to run for governor of Cavite, Jolo emphasized, "Nako, matagal pa yan! Kagaya nga ng sabi ko, nag-uumpisa pa lang tayo sa unang distrito ng lalawigan ng Cavite. Gagawin natin ang ating makakayanan."

Meanwhile, Rep. Mercado-Revilla expressed her sentiments about filing for reelection, reflecting on how quickly time has passed.

"Parang ang bilis ng panahon, ito na naman tayo, panahon na naman ng filing ng candidacy. I’m running for my second term, and hopefully, tayo ay manalo at mapagpatuloy ang aming nasimulan para sa aming distrito," she said.

Senator Bong Revilla, who is set to file his own certificate of candidacy on October 7, was present to support his family members.

He emphasized the Revilla family's commitment to public service, stating, "Sila [the people] ang pipili kung tama ba yung ginagawa namin o hindi. Basta kilala nila ang pamilya Revilla, nandito kami para maglingkod ng tapat at tunay at galing sa puso."

The 2025 election is scheduled for May 12, 2025.
