Photo from Nice Print.MANILA — The year 2010 was when Kim Jones first flew to the Philippines for a short vacation. She was originally based in Australia and worked for a bank. Months laer, Jones decided to pursue another career, this time as a model, after being convinced by her brother Apollo, who had been working as a model in the Philippines for quite some time. 

Jones bought a one-way ticket to Manila, hoping to try her luck in the city. 

Meanwhile, Jericho Rosales wasn’t ready to look for love. He was just going through the motions of his steady career at the time when he got an invite to dinner. Dominic Ochoa and his wife Denise Go organized a dinner for Jones and Rosales to meet. 

It wasn’t instant attraction, but days before the dinner Rosales already looked up Jones’ photos and even saved two pictures on his iPad. They didn’t hit it off. In fact, Rosales recalled that his jokes weren’t landing well to make Jones laugh. 

Rosales tried to schedule second and third dates, including an invite to watch the concert of The Script, but to no avail. But when Jones initiated the next date, it went well. The two went to La Union for a beach trip and as they described it as "perfect." 

In one of her interviews, Jones said, “Moving here to the Philippines is the best decision in life and Jericho is God’s greatest gift to me, and I'm so blessed to be here.” 

Meanwhile, Rosales lauded how Jones would support him on-and-off camera. “Siya lang talaga 'yung taong nararamdaman ko na pag-up ako, nandiyan siya. Pag down ako nandiyan siya.”

They became officially in a relationship in October 2011. 

It was under the radar until the couple made it publicly official when they attended the MYX Music Awards in March 2012. Rosales introduced Jones to the press people covering the event. 

"This is Kim. We’re together tonight," he said.

Fast forward to 2013, Rosales proposed to Jones in the middle of their church service. It started when the actor gave his testimony, and then knelt down in front of Jones and everybody. 

“I don't know why after everything, God still gave me the best person in the world. Will you marry me?” he asked her.

On May 1, 2014, Rosales and Jones tied the knot in a sunset beach wedding in Boracay. 

Everything went smoothly and in an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jones said they are enjoying their travels together and plans for having a baby was not yet in sight. A few years after, Rosales flew to New York City to be Jones’ assistant during New York Fashion week. 

In 2020, the couple flew back to Manila and stayed because of the pandemic lockdown. 

The following year, they went back to live temporarily in New York City. They got an apartment, and shared this life milestone on social media. 

In 2022, rumors of their breakup floated but the public heard nothing from the two. Last year during the ABS-CBN Ball, the two even graced the red carpet together and sat alongside their friends inside the ballroom. No one knew or had hinted that something was wrong in paradise. 

That was until showbiz insider Ogie Diaz, through his YouTube vlog, reported that the couple is allegedly in the process of annulment. There was no confirmation from both parties -- even when Rosales was cornered by the press in an event last January 12. 

When asked about his relationship with Jones, he said “No comment. It’s not the place. I never really talk about relationships. We are happy we are good, Kim and I are amazing. We are fantastic.”

But last Monday, January 29, Ricco Ocampo, the couple’s godfather, confirmed exclusively to ABS-CBN News that Rosales and Jones have separated. 

Fans were shocked to find out that the couple have broken up since 2019. 

ABS-CBN News reached out to closest friends of the couple for their reaction but begged off and requested the public to pray for their healing. 

"Magandang Buhay" host and self-confessed Jericho Rosales fan Melai Cantiveros said, “Ipag0pray na lang natin na kasi life is too short. Baka naman desisyon nila sa buhay nila ayun. All we have to do is to respect.” 

Meanwhile, comedian Empoy Marquez also requested for prayers for Rosales, his co-star inythe international project "Sell Block." “Kaibigan ko 'yan si bespren Echs. Siguro kung ano man 'yung prayers... mahal ko 'yang taong 'yan.” 

While Ocampo has confirmed the breakup, there have been no official word yet from Rosales and Jones about their separation.
