IU and Park Bo-gum will star in an upcoming South Korean drama produced by Netflix, the streamer said Tuesday.

The series with the working title "When Life Gives You Tangerines" will be directed by Kim Won-suk, who previously worked with IU in "My Mister," and written by Lim Sang-chun of "Fight for My Way" and "When the Camellia Blooms."

In a press release, Netflix said the series follows the adventures of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik, played by IU and Park, respectively, in Jeju Island.

Ae-sun is described as a "determined rebel who continuously defies her fate," while Gwan-sik is a "steadfast man who shows his sincere affection through his actions."

Joining the cast are Moon So-ri of "Queenmaker" and Park Hae-joon from "The World of the Married," who play older versions of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik, respectively.

Netflix has yet to release the series' premiere date.
