MANILA — Lucky Filipino fans got to see Henry Cavill up close on Thursday during the British actor’s visit to Manila to promote his new series.

Cavill, known for his “Superman” movies, had a fan meet at Ayala Malls Manila Bay days before the showing of “The Witcher” on Netflix.

He was accompanied by the series’ showrunner, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

The actor patiently signed the many posters and other merchandise related to “The Witcher,” as well as other “Superman” items, as he walked the black carpet.

The event’s host, actor Matteo Guidicelli, entertained the audience as they waited for their turn to interact with Cavill.

Netflix also gave away series-inspired medallions and tickets to the screening of the first episode of “The Witcher,” which was scheduled right after the fan meet.

“You guys are amazing. Thank you so much,” Cavill addressed the crowd.

“We really appreciate you being here and giving us all your support,” he added.

Cavill plays the role of Geralt of Rivia, the eponymous “witcher” or monster hunter in the upcoming Netflix series.

During a press conference hours before the fan meet, the actor admitted that he has been immersed in the video game adaptation of “The Witcher” way before he got on board the series.

He also shared how he went the extra mile to score the coveted lead role.

“The Witcher” will make its Netflix debut on December 20.
