MANILA — Comparisons between contemporaries Kathryn Bernardo and Nadine Lustre are nothing new, with the actresses even addressing, on numerous occasions, their supposed resemblance.

Their likeness came up anew on social media this week, as a TikTok video of a girl from Davao City went viral because of her familiar appearance, which has garnered both awed and “confused” reactions.

A flood of comments compared her to either Bernardo or Lustre. Others said they couldn’t decide which the girl looked more like, while some quipped she is a mix of the two stars who could heal the supposed fandom war.

The original video from user Cassie, the girl seen in the video, had over 40,000 likes as of writing. A separate tweet from a fan who captioned the video — “Nadine Bernardo is shaking” — similarly had tens of thousands of likes.

Going by her tweets, Cassie has been made aware of her resemblance to the Kapamilya leading ladies, as reactions comparing her to them continue to pour in.

The physical similarities of Bernardo and Lustre were first noticed by fans when the latter had her showbiz breakthrough in 2014 via “Diary ng Panget.”

At the time, the two would be asked in respective interviews about being likened to each other, with Bernardo saying she had no problem with it, as she found Lustre “very pretty and very charming.” Lustre similarly said she was flattered, and agreed that in certain angles, they do look alike.
