MANILA — Joseph Marco is marking a career milestone with his first international series, as he revealed on Monday being cast in an HBO Asia offering.

The former “Los Bastardos” star, 31, is a new cast member in the second season of the crime drama series “The Bridge.”

On Instagram, Marco shared a photo of him on set, captioned: “Where did life take me today? It’s my first day of shooting here in Kuala Lumpur. Feels very surreal doing my first ever acting stint abroad! It’s such an overwhelming experience to be able to work with international production and I really am grateful for it!”

“The Bridge’s” sophomore season will run for 10 episodes and will be simulcast on the streaming service Viu, and HBO Asia’s channels and services HBO, HBO Go, and HBO on Demand, Variety reported.

It is expected to premiere in early 2020 across 24 territories.

Based on the 2011 Swedish series of the same title, “The Bridge” sees international police agencies cooperating, following the discovery of a body apparently cut in half and placed precisely on the border between two countries.

Marco’s announcement came just days after HBO Asia unveiled the third season of another series, “Halfworlds,” as being helmed by Filipino director Mikhail Red, with local stars Bianca Umali and Sam Concepcion in key roles related to the Engkanto of Philippine mythology.
