A young singer from General Santos City, two Filipino-Japanese girls, and a former "Tawag ng Tanghalan" contestant were all picked during the second episode of the reality show's newest season, dubbed "PBB: Otso."

The first one to be introduced was Jelay Pilones,a 17-year-old girl from General Santos City, who earned her spot as one of the housemates by winning a challenge.

The final, public vote-determined spot went to half-Japanese girl Karina Bautista, dubbed "Miss Independent ng Isabela." At 16, she lives alone in a rented room in her hometown.

Once a housemate is eliminated, someone from Camp Star Hunt will take his or her place. There will always be 8 housemates inside the "PBB" house.

Each batch will stay inside the "PBB" house for eight weeks, after which a batch winner will be chosen.
