MANILA — A tearful Claudine Barretto recently visited the tombstone of her late boyfriend, actor Rico Yan, praying that he would help her “take care of daddy.”

Barretto’s father, Miguel Barretto, passed away on October 15 after two weeks under intensive care, due to acute respiratory failure.

On Instagram on Wednesday, the 40-year-old actress, the youngest of Miguel’s seven children with wife Inday, shared a video of her in tears at what appears to be the tombstone of Yan.

Yan died, aged 27, in 2002.

In the video, Claudine can be heard saying: “I’m so scared, Rico. I’m scared to lose my dad. . . It’s not going to be the same anymore.”

While the video was uploaded on Wednesday, Claudine’s words indicate that it may have been recorded prior to the death of Barretto over a week ago.

Claudine, according to her estranged sister Marjorie, had been a constant presence during their father’s hospitalization, taking the “night shift” and keeping watch in the hope of Barretto’s recovery.

Claudine’s post came amid the latest controversy to rock the showbiz Barretto clan. The night prior, Marjorie alleged in a televised interview that Claudine started the exchange of harsh words during the October 16 wake of their father, resulting in the scuffle that triggered this latest, publicized feud among family members.
