MANILA -- Five years after the release of “Four Sisters and a Wedding,” a scene from the Star Cinema film has taken on new relevance, at least to critics of resigned Palace communications official Mocha Uson.

In the family drama, Uson, a sexy performer and actress prior to her government stint, portrayed a woman who provoked a violent reaction from Alex, portrayed by Angel Locsin.

In the scene, Alex catches her boyfriend, Chad (Bernard Palanca), kissing another woman (Uson). Chad tries to stop Alex from leaving, but the woman tells Chad to let her be, calling Alex “desperada.”

This prompts Alex to drag the woman by her hair, with Alex’s siblings helping her get even. Ultimately, Alex decides to let her go, and instead finds joy in having mended ties with her siblings, after their falling out as shown in the earlier part of the film.

Various uploads of the hair-pulling scene have gone viral in recent months, notably in the context of Uson’s critics responding to her statements and blunders as an appointed government official.

Locsin is not oblivious to this, and in fact, finds it amusing.

Asked for her reaction, Locsin answered, as quoted by PhilStar.com: “Kaya pala minsan nagtataka ako bakit ako nag-ba-viral, e. Sabi ko, ‘Ba’t ako nag-ba-viral, ano’ng nangyayari sa ’kin? Tapos ‘pag tinignan ko, trending, trending, trending. Ah, ‘yun pala ‘yun!

“Nakakatawa lang na kung papano ginagamit ngayon, ba’t ako nagtre-trend minsan. Nakakatawa lang. Natatawa lang ako sa nangyari.”

Locsin described Uson as “super nice” when they shot the scene. She recalled that she approached Uson afterwards to check if she was okay.

“Though nasugatan siya ng slight doon,” the actress said. “Kinukumusta ko siya kung papaano. Wala naman siyang reklamo nu’ng time na ‘yun.”

The “General’s Daughter” star didn’t say if she and Uson have seen each other since. But when asked if they are on good terms, Locsin said, “Sana okay kami!”
