MANILA -- A former boy band member tried his luck again in the music industry on Sunday's episode of "Pinoy Boyband Superstar."

Japanese-Filipino charmer Yuki Sakamoto got a rating of 96 percent and secured all four nods from the judges with his rendition of Madonna's "Crazy for You."

The 23-year-old Quezon city charmer was a former member of 1:43 who sang the hit "Sa Isang Sulyap Mo." The band is now disbanded, according to Sakamoto.

Comedian Vice Ganda said Sakamoto has a wide market since his appeal extends to both adults and teenagers alike, while singer Yeng Constantino commented: "Ang feminine ng boses mo pero ang macho ng dating mo which is very good kase balanse."

Actor Aga Muhlach also praised Sakamoto: "You really know how to play the crowd. You really have what it takes to be a heartthrob."

Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" airs every Saturday after "Home Sweetie Home" and on Sundays after "Goin' Bulilit."
