MANILA – Sharon Cuneta hopes that rumors that her daughter KC Concepcion and former Azkals team captain Aly Borromeo have already called it quits are not true.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News and other reporters on Wednesday, Cuneta said she hasn’t heard about the rumor yet but she is hoping that it is not true.

“Hindi ko alam ‘yun. Kung ano man, hindi ko pa naririnig. Sana naman huwag,” she said.

Although the Concepcion and Borromeo haven’t publicly admitted their relationship yet, Cuneta admitted that she likes the football player for her eldest daughter.

“Anybody that’s nice to my daughter and makes my daughter a better person and brings her closer to the family, I will like. Aly is like that,” she said.

Cuneta said she also likes that Borromeo gets along well with Concepcion’s siblings, especially Miguel.

“His best friend is Miguel because Miguel is into soccer and he is very mayabang because Aly is the captain tapos tinuturuan siya,” he said.

Refusing to meddle into her daughter’s love life, Cuneta just said: “I leave it to them. KC is an adult. Saan man makarating ang kanyang relasyon, decision na niya 'yun.”

Two weeks ago, Concepcion left many of her followers on Instagram confused when she revealed that she is both not "single" and "taken" at the same time.

According to her, she is "building an empire, finding [herself], healing [herself], loving [herself], being passionate, getting fit, growing friendships, meeting new people, and making memories."

Some of Concepcion's fans speculated that her "update" meant that she and Borromeo stopped dating.

However, Concepcion appeared to have responded to the rumors last week by posting a photo with Borromeo -- the first one she uploaded on Instagram since she went with the football player to Hong Kong last July.

And while the two continue to remain tight-lipped about their real status, Concepcion has already introduced Borromeo, whom she described as one of the "few good guys left," to her parents, Cuneta and her stepfather Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan.
