MANILA - Deputy National Security Adviser Luis "Chavit" Singson named actor Cogie Domingo as one of the alleged lovers of his common-law-wife, Rachel "Che" Tiongson.

Singson said the 23-year-old actor had an affair with Tiongson about last year.

"Hindi ko nakausap. Hindi ko nakita. Hindo ko rin nahabol na kasi pumunta na sa States," he told ABS-CBN News.

He said the alleged affair between Tiongson and Domingo would have been kept a private matter, if Tiongson did not come out in public and accuse Singson of beating her up after he caught her with another man.

The man was later identified as Richard Catral, 38, who is married with children. Catral had reportedly introduced himself as a bachelor when he and Tiongson met.

Cogie will face issue

Meanwhile, Domingo's father, human rights lawyer Atty. Rod Domingo, said he was irked that his son's name is being dragged into the controversy.

But he said that his son is willing to face issue. "Bilang ama ni Cogie, ay siyempre apektado tayo. Naiintindihan naman natin ang kalagayan ni [former Ilocos] Gov. Singson, pero bigyan naman natin ng panahon siguro, and everything will be settled," he said.

"I'm sure he can also understand the position of his live-in partner because she was injured. Hindi ko masasabi kung iyan ay totoo o hindi, pero I would have to confront Cogie about it," he added.

Atty. Domingo also clarified that his son had already returned to the Philippines from the US, and had even helped him in a consumer rights campaign in Cebu.

He did not answer speculations, however, that the actor had fled to the United States when his relationship with Tiongson was discovered.

"I will advise him (Cogie) to face the issue and clarify matters for the sake of the many fans that he still has at the present time. I hope it will not deter his intended comeback," he said.

Marital woes

Singson, who has also been linked with other women, said Domingo is allegedly one among a string of Tiongson's lovers.

He also denied that he and Tiongson had separated a few months back, as she had earlier claimed in an interview with ABS-CBN News. The couple have 5 children together.

Singson showed copies of Tiongson's love letters, containing endearments and requests for money, addressed to him as proof that they had not yet formally separated.

"Lahat ng letter niya, 'I love you.' May 'mwah mwah' pa siya sa sulat. [Sa] text [messages] ganun din. Pagka-text, 'Mwah, love.' Tapos sinasabi niya na hiwalay na kami. So nagsisinungaling siya," he said.

Singson also described Tiongson's most recent boyfriend, Richard Catral, as a "sweet talker" and a handsome man.

Catral, who is married with children, had reportedly introduced himself as a bachelor when he and Tiongson met.

He alleged that he caught his wife and Catral having sex in Tiongson's apartment, but denied that he hurt her and Catral as a result. With reports from Mario Dumawal, ABS-CBN News.
