MANILA – More than a year since confirming her split with Lander Vera-Perez, her husband for 18 years, actress-dancer Regine Tolentino admitted that her heart has already healed.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual, Tolentino said she is now “completely energized to be out there someday” and look for “someone new and move on.”

“It’s been over two and a half years so I am pretty much ready. My kids have pretty much accepted it and they are actually pushing me to date, go around, have fun and just explore. I’ve just been trying to find the time,” she said.

Since their separation, Tolentino said she has not been in touch with Vera-Perez.

“We just treat it as if wala na siya because he’s completely out of our lives. No communication, no help whatsoever,” she said.

Once the court finally annuls her marriage to Vera-Perez, Tolentino said she will request from Vera-Perez what’s due for their children.

“As advised by my lawyer, after everything that is said and done, then I can perhaps request in behalf of my children because I believe every child deserves support and the presence of their father,” she said.

With everything that has happened, Tolentino still feels blessed that a lot of opportunities continue to come her way, enabling her to support her children on her own.

“The good thing that has come out of all this heartache and stress is the fact that I was able to raise the kids well,” she said.

One of the things keeping Tolentino busy is her preparations for the upcoming fun run where the product she’s endorsing, Organique Açaí Freeze Dried Capsule, will participate for the first time.

“On October 8 at McKinley West, we will have the Purple Run. It’s the first time Organique will participate in a fun rin like this that will also start with a zumba party before the run and after. I’m proud to just promote health and wellness to everybody,” she said.

The Purple Run is for the benefit of ABS-CBN’s Lingkod Kapamilya.
