MANILA -- He may have found himself in hot water for his rude and uncalled for comments on Daniel Padilla.

But young actor Paul Salas can at least console himself with the thought of having the support of his rumored girlfriend, ex-"Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Barbie Imperial.

Moments after fans caught Salas's swipe at Padilla, in which he clowned the "La Luna Sangre" star for being agitated by a hard foul during a basketball game, Imperial took to Twitter to come to his defense.

"Good times or bad times, I got his back," Imperial wrote. "Even if you bash me, I just wanna show you guys that bad comments won't stop me. I know him."

She was apparently responding to some harsh posts about her relationship with Salas. Her bashers poked fun at her post last week, in which she could be seen cuddling with Salas.

Imperial added that she understands that Salas may be in the wrong and that she just wanted to comfort his rumored beau.

The brouhaha surrounding Salas began when he allegedly shared a video of Padilla's scuffle with JC de Vera during the Star Magic All Star basketball game and wrote: "Maglaro ka na lang ng lazer [sic] tag kung ayaw mong masaktan sa basketball."

It did not sit well with Padilla himself, who tweeted to Salas what appears to be a challenge. Salas responded by saying that he and his friends would gladly play a game against Padilla.

Amid all the back and forth between Padilla and Salas, Kathryn Bernardo, Padilla's rumored girlfriend, shared a GIF of Stephen Curry giving a sarcastic clap.

It was posted minutes after Imperial's message for Salas, and fans have claimed that it was her reaction to it.

Meanwhile, Pat Sugui at Anjo Damiles, friends of Padilla, both had stern warnings for Salas.

For her part, Karla Estrada, the mother of Padilla, proved to be a cool head in her reaction to the whole thing and appealed to fans of both: "Tama na guys. Matulog na kayo ng matiwasay. Lilipas din lahat iyan at tayo tayo rin ang makikita sa dulo."
