MANILA -- 2019 was a good year for Dante Gulapa, and no doubt he felt like things were turning a corner after a difficult period in which he had to pay debts by working as a macho dancer.

But as with many at the start of this year, the social media star, who rose to fame via his viral "eagle dance," found the rug pulled from under his feet by this COVID-19 pandemic.

In an emotional Facebook post, Gulapa shared how desperate he is for work after the gigs he had lined up have been cancelled, leaving him with no income for many, many months to come.

Gulapa is known for his famous dance, but his TV appearances also revealed how much of a good guy he is, painting him as a father who would do anything, as long as they're honest work, just to support his children. This included foraying into macho dancing.

Gulapa also uploaded a video version of his plea that saw him in near tears as he echoed what he wrote about getting into fights with his wife and how he has no idea on how they'll survive.
