Espanto previously expressed that he wants to try his hand at acting and acknowledged that he would like to work with Bernardo, as the actress is his biggest celebrity crush.

Described as a light romance, "The Hows of Us," under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina, follows the relationship of Primo (Padilla) and George (Bernardo) over a long period, and tackles the challenges partners in long-term relationships face.

Specifically, according to Padilla, it will explore the apparent tendency of the younger generation to easily give up or lose interest, when it comes to a job or a relationship.

By the actor's admission, he and Bernardo can easily relate to the topic of "The Hows of Us," as they, too, are in a long-term relationship that has gone through highs and lows.
