MANILA — Cardo Dalisay and Rhian Bonifiacio effortlessly dodged bullets from new rival programs on Monday, firmly holding on to the top two spots in the list of the country's most watched TV programs.

The well-loved lead characters of "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" and "The General's Daughter" — ABS-CBN primetime offerings that air back-to-back — drew more viewers compared to GMA-7's "Sahaya" and the debuting "The Better Woman," respectively, according to Kantar Media.

The Coco Martin starrer remained the Philippines' undisputed No. 1 TV show with a nationwide rating of 37.5%, while "Sahaya," which switched time slots to face off with the primetime stalwart, recorded a distant 18.7%.

The Angel Locsin-led "General's Daughter," meanwhile, similarly fended off "The Better Woman," which registered a national TV rating of 14% against the action-drama series' 30.3% on July 1.

The Dreamscape productions also performed strongly last Friday, June 28, against their previous competitors.

The long-running "Ang Probinsyano" survived yet another rival in its time slot with the exit of "Kara Mia," whose finale only got a nationwide rating of 14.1%, compared to the Kapamilya show's 35.6%.

"The General's Daughter" was also ahead, 28.9% versus 18.7%, over "Sahaya's" last episode in that time slot, prior to its transfer to square off against Cardo.
