MANILA - Controversial cosmetic surgeon Hayden Kho said he intends to offer his apologies to former girlfriend Maricar Reyes and her family after the model-turned-actress got involved in the sex video scandal but said that now is not the right time to do so.

In an exclusive interview with “TV Patrol World,” Kho, for the first time, has spoken about Reyes who has kept mum on the controversy. Kho was all praises for the actress, saying that he admired her kindness and strength.

He said Reyes came from a respectable family and he felt ashamed when her name got dragged into the scandal.

“Nahihiya ako sa kanya. Gusto kong mag-sorry sa kanya personally. Gusto kong puntahan ang family niya para mag-sorry pero now is not the right time. Parang hindi ko pa alam kung paano ko sila i-a-approach,” he said.

Kho said he is proud of her because she is not letting the controversy affect her life. At the same time, Kho also said he envied her because, unlike him, she was able to move on.

“Sana makuha ko ang strength niya kasi nahihirapan ako ngayon. Parang lahat sila naka-move on na. Parang ako na lang ‘ata ang naiiwan,” he said.

“Trapped”

The doctor lamented that he is “trapped here” ever since his “more or less 11” sex videos were made public.

He said he now cannot leave his home and go to work. He also cannot leave the country because he has been placed under the immigration watch list.

“Every time na may lumalabas na video sa Internet, ako din napapahiya dahil ako din nakahubad doon. Ako din ang tinitira ng mga tao doon. Parang the message I’m getting from the public, ‘wala kang karapatan na magsabi na biktima ka kasi ikaw ang may kasalanan,’” he said.

He also admitted that he asked former girlfriend Dr. Vicki Belo for a second chance but the latter had refused. Belo had ended her relationship with Kho reportedly after discovering his infidelity.

“Unfair”

Kho is now battling various legal charges filed by actress Katrina Halili who also got involved in the scandal.

Halili accused Kho, Belo and three others of violating Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004. She is also asking the Professional Regulation Commission to revoke Kho’s license to practice medicine.

Two weeks ago, Halili lodged a new complaint against Kho before the PRC. This time, she accused Kho of “malpractice of cosmetic surgery.”

When sought for comment, Kho said: “Sobrang unfair iyong ginawa niya ‘tsaka noong abogado niya na kasuhan ako nang malpractice kasi hindi daw ako pwedeng mag-lipo[suction]. Ang [Philippine Medical Association] already made a ruling before na there’s nothing illegal about what I did.”

Kho performed a liposuction on Halili in August 2007, or six months after he passed the medical board examination.

In her complaint, Halili said, in the period of six months, he could not have acquired the needed residency, training and specialization before he could qualify as cosmetic surgeon.
