Martin explained in an interview with reporters on Thursday: "Hindi naman kiss iyon, beso-beso lang iyon."

He was speaking at the sidelines of a press conference to launch his new TV commercial for a brand of sardines.

Martin reasoned that it was normal for him and Pressman to greet each other on the set of "Ang Probinsyano" with a "beso," and that it was fans who thought they had shared a kiss on the lips.

He did thank those same supporters who were clamoring for them to get together as a real-life couple as, according to him, it shows their approval of their love team.

"Nakakataba ng puso kasi siguro tinatangkilik nila iyong 'Ang Probinsyano,' iyong tambalan namin ni Yassi. Nakaka-proud kasi nagugustuhan nila," he said.

Asked about the teleserye's current story arc, which sees Martin's character, Cardo, trying to woo back Alyana following their falling out, he said they are trying to show that there is more to "Ang Probinsyano" than just action scenes.

"Ito iyong chance para maipakita namin na hindi puro aksyon, hindi puro drama, na kapag romance, romance. Kapag comedy, comedy," Martin said.

He added that they are trying to give a "realistic" depiction of a married couple who get back together after falling out of love.

"Gusto namin ipakita iyong tamang proseso kung paano sila magkakabalikan, o mahuhulog ulit iyong isa't-isa," Martin said.
