After her successful concert series in the United States, Sarah Geronimo has her hands full anew, this time with her upcoming movie “Miss Granny” which she co-stars with James Reid and Xian Lim.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, the singer-actress said they still have six more shooting days before they wrap up the movie.

“We are finishing up. Medyo napre-pressure na kasi iyong mga natitirang eksena, ito ang mga heavy scenes, ang mga highlights po talaga so sana maging okay,” she said.

A remake of a South Korean film released in 2014, the Viva Films production follows Fely (Nova Villa), an elderly woman who finds a second chance at youth after a visit to a mysterious photo studio.

Its teaser first released in April focuses on the pensioner protagonist, revealing that she's a handful to live with, being a hothead and a control freak. This leads to her daughter-in-law being hospitalized and her son contemplating whether to kick her out of their home.

It's also hinted that she loves her grandson (Reid) very much, enough to stand up for his dreams to become a musician.

The official synopsis adds that Fely will take on a new name after regaining a youthful body, during which she is played by Geronimo, as she "embarks on a quest for happiness."

Asked how she copes with the demands of her role, Geronimo said: “May tumutulong po sa akin na acting coach. Kasi siyempre ang mga nuances of a woman in her 70s, medyo iba ang galaw. Siyempre medyo matagal na iyong huling acting project ko, so challenging din for me.”

Although a bit challenging, Geronimo said she has a lot of fun working on the film with her co-stars and director, Joyce Bernal.

“Enjoy po, magaan lang po ang trabaho,” she described their working environment briefly.

Although there is no play date yet for the movie, Geronimo is already inviting moviegoers to watch “Miss Granny.”

“Napakagandang istorya, para po sa buong pamilya, para sa mga nangangarap. Itong storya na ito ay dedicated to all the mothers out there. Pinapakita nito iyong unconditional at fearless na pagmamahal ng isang ina sa kanyang anak. It’s also a dreamer’s story,” she said.
